The Final Letters

After his architectural coursework at Harvard, J.G. Averell worked for a period in the Rochester architectural firm of Bragdon and Hillman.  In late 1903-early 1904 he travelled to Europe, viewing architectural masterworks, before accepting a position at the Boston architectural firm of Hale & Rogers.

His final years were filled with golf, yachting and polo.  He died on November 20, 1904, from typhoid fever.
