In this letter, written to his mother who was travelling in Yellowstone Park, J.G. reports on equestrian events, tennis matches and bicycle racing.  J.G. became a talented amateur sportsman, participating in the Genesee Valley Hunt Club, Rochester Yacht Club, golf and crew through his college years and after.
