Summer golf

J.G. and the Rochester team beat the Toronto team in June 1900.  J.G. beat the Canadian amateur champion in individual play.  In July, J.G. was the only golfer from the Rochester Country Club playing in the U.S. amateur nationals. J.G. made it to the finals where he was defeated by the reigning U.S. amateur champion, H.M. Harriman, a distant relative.  J.G. was a member of the winning American team playing in the Third International Golf contest held in Quebec on September 1st, 1900. A few days later J.G. was again golfing with the Rochester team, defeating Buffalo.
