Walter Webster Powers (1872-1936)

Friends and Acquaintances of Emily Sibley Watson:

Walter Webster Powers was the youngest son of Rochester businessman and art collector Daniel W. Powers and his wife Helen Craig Powers.  An 1894 Harvard graduate, he returned to Rochester and worked as secretary and treasurer of the Powers Building Company. In a 12/27/1892 letter to her daughter, Elizabeth Sibley speculated on his upcoming marriage to "Vic" Raymond.

With his siblings, in 1928 Powers purchased and donated Edward J. Redfield's River Hills to the Memorial Art Gallery in memory of his father.
